Anthony Edwards is entering his sophomore season in the NBA with an intention to become a superstar. The first overall pick from the 2020 NBA Draft had a solid rookie season, only missing out on Rookie Of The Year to Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball. But now he’s set his sights on bringing the Timberwolves back to playoff contention.

The Timberwolves had a statement win over the Houston Rockets in their opening game. Edwards had a solid performance, putting up 29 points, 6 rebounds, and even 3 assists. Edwards was absolutely spectacular and punished the Houston Rockets during the night.

On one occasion, Anthony Edwards pulled up and sank the Rockets with a three. After making the shot, Edwards turned to the Rockets bench and suggested to Rockets head coach Stephen Silas that he call a time out, because of how he was dominating the Rockets.

After the game, Edwards addressed the comment he made to Silas. He told Silas that it was in the Rockets’ best interest to take a timeout because he was catching fire and that he was going to continue to punish them.

Anthony Edwards postgame on calling a timeout for Houston:

“Yeah I was tellin the coach to call a damn timeout. You need a timeout. I’m hot.”

Edwards continues to prove that he is one the funniest players in the NBA today. His comments always garner laughs from fans and analysts alike. But while Edwards may be a funny player, there is nothing about his game that could be laughed at.

He is a serious talent and is on the path of becoming one of the best players in the NBA as time goes on. Going forward, Edwards has a lot of work to do in order to achieve his potential. But given how he has been performing, Edwards is showing that he is up to the task.
