The Minnesota Timberwolves finished the year with a 46-36 record, which unfortunately wasn’t enough to get them out of a play-in spot in the Western Conference.

Their matchup in the play-in will be the Los Angeles Clippers, who are the 8th seed. There is no doubt that they are a team of tough veterans, and it’s hard to bet against coach Ty Lue in a winner takes all game.

Anthony Edwards has recently revealed the key goal for the Minnesota Timberwolves when it comes to the play-in. Edwards claimed that if the Timberwolves manage to stop Paul George, they will end up winning the game.

While obviously, the goal is to limit an opposing star, that is easier said than done when it comes to Paul George. Paul George is a three-level scorer on the offensive end that is also good at playmaking, and it’s not going to be an easy ride for the Minnesota Timberwolves defense. With that being said, they have some solid defenders on their roster such as Patrick Beverley and Jarred Vanderbilt, as well as Anthony Edwards himself.

It remains to be seen if the Minnesota Timberwolves are able to get out of the play-in tournament and make the playoffs. Earlier in the season, Anthony Edwards expressed confidence in his team, claiming that they will end up in the playoffs. Hopefully, that becomes a reality for them.

If the team doesn’t end up getting to the playoffs, then they can always try again next season. A young core of Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell is solid, and it is quite possible that they’ll be even better next season. The future is bright in Minnesota, and perhaps the present will end up being good as well.
