Compared to the last few seasons, the Minnesota Timberwolves are having a decent season. Although they are still below the .500 record, they certainly didn’t play like that against the Denver Nuggets.

It was a blowout victory and the Timberwolves were never pushed out of their comfort zone by the Nuggets. By the end of the regulation time, the score stood at 124-107 in favor of Minnesota. It was once again Anthony Edwards who put on a show and carried the team on his back.

Edwards finished the game with 38 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal to his name. His phenomenal performance included a shooting performance of 10-14 from the 3-point line.

While Edwards’ elite scoring was one of the talking points of the game, another thing that caught fans’ eyes was how he subtly trolled the Nuggets. During the fourth quarter with a little less than two minutes on the clock, Edwards already started handing out autographed basketballs to fans from the bench.

Apart from being a hilarious moment, it also proved the confidence that he had in his team. It was a gesture that in a way displayed that Edwards already believed that the Timberwolves had won the game.

This victory was quite crucial for the team, not only for this season but in their rivalry against the Nuggets as well. After losing 12 straight games to the Nuggets, Edwards’ heroics put an end to that losing streak.

The former first overall pick has been silencing his critics with each passing game. Many have already labeled this season as his breakout year. Looking at his stats, he is currently averaging 22.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He is putting up these numbers while shooting 43.4% from the field and 36.0% from beyond the arc.

It was an important game for the young star as it was his 100th game in the league. He certainly made it special by sinking a career-high 10 three-pointers in a game.

If he can continue playing at this level, he might help the Timberwolves finally end their playoff drought and maybe in the future win an NBA Championship as well.
