  • Ben Simmons had “a lot of fun” with the Philadelphia 76ers
  • The former star admitted it was “good timing” when he left
  • However, Simmons is willing to play for the 76ers again if traded there

There is no doubt that Ben Simmons was once considered to be one of the premier young talents in the league during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers. Simmons was clearly at his best during his time with the franchise, showing that he could play elite defense, slash to the rim, and provide elite playmaking.

Though things did end badly with the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, it seems as though he has nothing but love for the franchise. In fact, when speaking to Marc Spears of Andscape recently, Simmons suggested that he would want to join the franchise if he were ever to get traded again.

“I had a lot of fun there. It was time for me to go. When I did leave, it was good timing. Obviously, the injury and everything that was going on didn’t help. But I think it gave me a chance to really appreciate it. I’ll always have love for Philly. People always ask me like, ‘If you were to get traded again where you want it to be?’ I always say, ‘Just Philly. Philly is a second home to me.’ And in time, you learn and grow as people. I don’t really have anything bad to say about Philly. It was a crazy situation at the end, but it is what it is.”

There is no doubt that this is an unexpected statement from Ben Simmons, considering he did everything to get traded by the 76ers in his last days with the team. Still, it would be interesting to see him back on the 76ers where he was at his best, and the fan reactions would definitely be intriguing as well.

This past season with the Brooklyn Nets, Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game while shooting 56.6% from the field. The Brooklyn Nets will definitely need more out of him next season, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Ben Simmons Is Reportedly Healthy Once Again

Part of the reason that Ben Simmons played poorly with the Brooklyn Nets is that he had some back issues, which eventually required surgery. However, as of right now, Ben Simmons is ready to return to All-Star form and is as healthy as he was with the 76ers.

Hopefully, we do see Ben Simmons play better during the 2023-24 season. He is a very good player when at his best, and the world needs to see the best version of Ben Simmons once again.
