Blake Griffin was once an All-Star for the Los Angeles Clippers, during the “Lob City” era. To many, he is a legend of the franchise, and he is well-respected among Clippers fans.

Even though Blake Griffin is no longer the All-Star that he once was, he is still a very capable role player that is capable of impacting a game with his rebounding and floor spacing as a big man. He will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Recently, Joey Linn of Sports Illustrated revealed that Blake Griffin liked a Tweet about potentially joining the Los Angeles Clippers next season. The Clippers look like they will be contending next season, as Kawhi Leonard will return from his injury. It is easy to see why a veteran big man like Blake Griffin would potentially want to join a contender that has a good chance at the championship.

A return from Blake Griffin would certainly be good in terms of adding to the Clippers’ depth. They already have a solid amount of good role players such as Terance Mann and Marcus Morris, and there’s no question that adding Blake Griffin to their core would be a luxury.

Of course, a like from Blake Griffin on a Tweet doesn’t necessarily indicate that he will in fact be returning to the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency. A lot of things can change between now and the time free agency opens. However, it seems as though it could be a possibility. Though Blake Griffin was traded by the Los Angeles Clippers rather than leaving them of his own will, a return could be beneficial for both parties.

It remains to be seen what sort of moves the Los Angeles Clippers will make this offseason. They missed the playoffs this year, and they will be looking to bounce back and potentially win it all next year. Hopefully, we see that happen, and perhaps Blake Griffin can be a part of that if he does end up getting signed by the team.
