At this point, there isn’t much hope that the Washington Wizards can turn their season around. In fact, between their porous defense, fractured chemistry, and 6-16 record, the Wizards are quickly building a case for being the NBA’s worst team this year.
Now, to make matters worse, the team is also struggling in one of the few areas they were good at: shooting. For the third game in a row, Washington has shot below 30% from beyond the arc, and there’s no clear indication why.
When asked about the team’s struggles, and its source, Bradley Beal couldn’t help but mix humor with frustration.
“Gravity. Gravity just isn’t on our side…Something’s in the air. Maybe if I play on the damn moon, shots are gonna go in.”

Beal’s frustrations are understandable. After the John Wall trade, there was a lot of optimism that the Wizards would finally return to the playoffs with Beal, Westbrook, Bertans, and Hachimura.
Right out of the gate, they fell short, failing to win games and sliding to their current spot near the bottom of the standings.
What the Wizards do from here is anyone’s guess, but it’s quite clear that their current status quo just isn’t working.
