Bradley Beal Roasts His Own Team’s Defense: “We Can’t Guard A Parked Car.”

Washington’s 116-107 loss on Friday marked another fatal blow to their playoff aspirations this season. Now 2-7 on the year, the Wizards have dug themselves in an early hole that may be foreshadowing how the rest of the campaign will play out.

Things have gotten so bad, even Bradley Beal can’t help but roast his own squad, slamming their defense in a recent interview.

“It’s our defense. I don’t know why it’s our defense. At this point, we can’t guard a parked car,” Beal said. “I’m pissed off,” he said. “… Any of my career highs, they’ve been in losses. So I don’t give a damn. You can throw it right out the window with the other two or three I’ve had.”

Defense has been the biggest issue for the Wizards this season, as they rank close to the bottom in that category. If they can’t find a way to improve on that end of the floor, there may be no bouncing back at all this year.

On offense, it seems the arrival of Westbrook hasn’t been enough to translate into wins. With Rui Hachimura back in the lineup, they can no longer use his absence as an excuse for their struggles.

Nonetheless, in spite of it all, the Wizards are still angling for success and you can expect both Russ and Beal to come out next game with an enormous chip on their shoulder.
