Jayson Tatum On Bradley Beal: “I Cherish Every Game We Get To Play Together. Playing Against My Big Brother In The NBA.”

2 Min Read

Unlike a lot of players in the NBA, Jayson Tatum isn’t usually a huge trash talker. Leaving that tactic to his teammates, Tatum prefers to let his game do all the talking.

But there one exception, and his name is Bradley Beal.

Apparently, the two are as thick as thieves, with a friendship that goes back to their childhood in St. Louis, Missouri. In a chat with Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports, Tatum shared a bit about the special bond they share.

“We talked the whole time. That’s the only time I really talk in the NBA is when I play against him. Normally, I don’t say anything to anybody, but from tip-off me and him were talking until the end of the game.

It’s all I dream about. Playing against my big brother in the NBA. I cherish every game we get to play together. It’s always special. I love competing against him.”

Both players have emerged as one of the top talents in the game.

For Tatum, his 26.3 point-per-game average is one of the highest in the league, and his play has helped the Celtics earn a 7-3 record in the East. Beal is averaging an impressive 34.3 points per game, but his team isn’t doing as well — the Wizards are just 2-7.

Either way, at the rate they’re going, it won’t be long before they clash in the playoffs. That will be quite an interesting show to watch.
