The Utah Jazz have secured their franchise player in Donovan Mitchell. The talented guard was expected to ink a new deal with the team this offseason and now things are official, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Mitchell, 24, has become the face of the Jazz after being drafted with the 13th overall pick in 2017.
Amid rumors of a potential breakup between him and Rudy Gobert, the Jazz pulled the trigger and signed the talented player to a five-year, $195 million deal. The Jazz has been unable to thrive in the postseason in the last couple of years but Mitchell wants to change that.

They have re-signed their cornerstone and now the job will be to build around Mitchell with the right pieces. Mitchell played in his first All-Star game in 2019-20 and has averaged at least 20 points per game in all three of his NBA seasons with the Jazz. This man is the present and the future of the team and he expects to be successful and remain with the organization for many years to come.
