1 Min Read

Derrick Rose is returning to New York to reunite with former Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. In recent hours, rumors suggesting that the Knickerbockers were close to land the player again surfaced on the internet and according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the deal is about to get completed.

In exchange, the Knicks will send Dennis Smith to Detroit. Charania added that Rose and the Pistons believed a trade was the best option for them given their realities and plans for the future. D-Rose was followed by a series of teams around the league but it was the New Yorkers who landed the player against the Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers, and more franchises around the association.

Rose is averaging 14.2 points per game, 1.9 rebounds and 4.2 assist this season while shooting for 42.9% from the field and 33.3% from deep. This is a veteran that will bring a lot of help to the young Knicks team, especially knowing his relationship with Thibodeau.
