If they don’t make it to the Finals this season, it seems like they would have a bigger chance next season by landing one of the best players ever, which would be a shocking trade. LeBron James is reportedly frustrated with the Los Angeles Lakers, although he’s made it clear that he’s happy where he is and ready to compete.

Meanwhile, rumors about a potential exit keep coming, with some placing him on the Miami Heat or the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, a Western Conference executive says that the Nets could make a run for LeBron’s services to create another superteam.
“LeBron would have to be interested in playing with Kevin Durant,” a Western Conference executive told Deveney. “Both of those guys, at this point of their careers, they have been such great competitors and both of them want to finish out their time in the NBA strong, want to change the narrative a little bit on the way the last few years have gone. They have never been very close as friends but they have a lot of respect for each other. But, do you trade Kyrie? Probably, if they wanted to do a trade, they’d move Ben Simmons to L.A. but Simmons is a Klutch guy, so you’d have to see how that plays out.”
Under the CBA rules, LeBron going to Brooklyn would take Ben Simmons, Day’Ron Sharpe, and Cam Thomas to go to the Lakers.
This would be interesting to see, but it sounds more likely that LeBron will take Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant to Los Angeles instead of him going to Brooklyn. This is an interesting situation, but we’ll have to wait until the offseason to see what path the King follows and if the Lakers agree to his demands.
