Charles Barkley Admits He Was Wrong About His Prediction Of The Blazers Sweeping The Lakers

Charles Barkley didn’t have more remedy than to admit he was wrong with his initial prediction on the Los Angeles Lakers-Portland Trail Blazers series. The purple and gold absolutely smashed the Blazers on Monday night, winning with a 20-point gap on Kobe Bryant Day. LeBron James finished the game with 30 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds, confirming he finally activated playoffs mode.

The Lakers are leading the series 3-1, one win away from advancing to the second round. With that said, it was mandatory to remember that Barkley was cheering for the Blazers before the start of the series and after Game 1, he dared to say the Blazers were going to sweep the Lakers. Well, now that the Lakers are 3-1, he had to admit he was wrong with his initial claim in front of his co-hosts.

“I would take my hat off the Portland Trail Blazers. They did not quit. They had no chance to win that game in the second half, and they competed. Obviously, I was wrong,” Barkley said.

Now the task looks very difficult for the Blazers. The series started pretty well for them but the Lakers have demonstrated why they are favorites to claim the NBA title this season. Tomorrow, they will have the chance to finish the business or the Blazers will live another day in the bubble. The only thing we know is that there won’t be any sweeping in this series.
