Charles Barkley reveals how he sometimes fell asleep during subpar basketball games on the sets

Barkley has never been afraid to hold back on his thoughts

He will be part of TNT for the foreseeable future

Charles Barkley has been one of the more unabashed personalities in the NBA world and he continues to be that way even after his decorated basketball career as a player.

The straight shooter that he is, Barkley didn’t mince his word when he admitted to 60 Minutes’ host Jon Wertheim that he had fallen asleep on the sets of NBA on TNT during bad basketball games.

“Oh, I fall asleep just sitting there watching,” Barkley said. “Like, ‘Yo, man, this is just bad basketball.’”

All said and done, Barkley might catch his forty winks during average NBA games, but as far as his analysis goes, he’s usually spit on, and he’s committed to his job. Maybe someday, one of the TNT’s crew can catch him napping.

We’re sure Shaquille O’Neal has already listed it on his to-do list ahead of the next season.

Charles Barkley Has Carved An Impressive Career As An NBA Analyst

Charles Barkley has been one of the more vocal analysts unafraid to share their opinion, even if it means calling out players and giving them flak. While some of his comments surely are controversial at times, they are accurate in most cases.

As proof of how good an analyst Barkley is, he signed a 10-year contract extension with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports for the foreseeable future.

In the same interview, he explained why he was critical of his opinions.

“I think they know that I’m going, to be honest, I’m going to be fair, I don’t have a hidden agenda,” Barkley said to Wertheim. “[There’s] not many people on TV that you can say that about.”

Surely, his feud with Phoenix Suns forward and superstar Kevin Durant is ample proof that he will indeed dish out brickbats in generous measure. And that’s just one example.

There’s no doubt that Barkley will continue to share his thoughts on all things basketball without any filters, as it should be, and that has rightfully earned him the respect from fans.
