Charles Barkley After Shaquille O’Neal Brings Up Their Super Bowl Bet: “As Long As I Owe You, You Will Never Be Broke”

2 Min Read

Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal have one of the best relationships in the NBA. You really enjoy watching these two guys going after each other, discussing basketball-related topics and even ones that don’t necessarily have to do something with the NBA.

Back in February, the two legends bet on the Super Bowl LV winner, with O’Neal going with Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers while Chuck supported Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. As you may know, the 43-year-old put up a masterpiece against the Chiefs and won his 7th Super Bowl ring in a very successful career. While Brady got his trophy, Shaq didn’t get his money and he recently reminded Chuck that he was in debt with him.

Shaq: “Speaking of bets, you ain’t paid me yet for the Super Bowl.”

Chuck: “As long as I owe you, you will never be broke.”

Kenny Smith chimed in and said that was the reason why he never bets with any of those guys, while Ernie Johnson didn’t know about that. That is a very kind attitude from Barkley, but Shaq shouldn’t have problems going broke with all the businesses and incomes he has right now. That’s how true friendship looks, like, we suppose. Chuck is taking care of Shaq’s finance by not paying him his Super Bowl bet.

Shaq is now worth over $400 million and this debt won’t mean a big change for his finances but a bet is a bet and people have to respect that.
