LeBron James and Chris Paul are both very well-known for their continued ability to play at a high level. LeBron James is 37, and Chris Paul is 36. A lot of players would have retired by now, but the two are obviously still going, and are obviously driving forces for their respective franchises.

There is no question that athletes often spend money to improve their conditioning and stay in shape, and perhaps LeBron James and Chris Paul spending money and investing in their health is the reason for their longevity. Chris Haynes has recently revealed that LeBron James spends $1.5 million on body maintenance, while Chris Paul spends $1.0 million on the same thing.

Longevity at a high level comes at a cost. Chris Paul will be 37 in May, and his production hasn’t dipped. He shared with me this morning that he spends about $1 million on body maintenance ranging from trainers, nutritionists, personal chefs, massage therapists. His good friend LeBron James reportedly spends about $1.5 million on his body.”

Chris Paul is currently averaging 14.9 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 10.4 APG, and is leading the league in assists. LeBron James is putting up 29.1 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 6.3 APG, and is scoring more than he has since the 2009-10 season. Body maintenance plays a big part in staying on top of the game, and it’s obvious that these two players take it extremely seriously.

The Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers were both slated to be contenders ahead of the season, though the Phoenix Suns have been the only team to fulfill those expectations. There’s still some season left to play though, and it is possible that the Los Angeles Lakers will go on a run and put things together. Regardless of each team’s positioning though, Chris Paul and LeBron James have both been crucial for their squads this year, and perhaps we’ll see them face off in the playoffs once again.
