Defending Kevin Durant is a nightmare for any player in the NBA. But it seems like Durant’s teammate, Chris Paul is confident in his skills to make the Slim Reaper deliberately miss shots.

CP3 made this huge claim following the Phoenix Suns’ most recent win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the victory, Durant struggled to shoot consistently. Chris Paul tried to explain the reason behind KD’s cold night in the postgame interview but ended up making a massive claim for himself.

“Most times, he’s just going to miss. Not too many people that’s ever going to make him miss. I’m probably one of the only people that used to do that.”

Chris Paul then proceeded to repeat what he said and told Kevin Durant. Durant’s reaction to CP3’s claims was priceless as the two-time NBA champion started laughing.

Durant’s laughter was more than enough of an answer to Chris Paul’s huge claims. Sure, Paul can defend guards pretty well, but defending Durant is not an easy task, even for the 9x All-Defensive point guard.

Kevin Durant Was Rusty In His Return From Ankle Injury

Kevin Durant finally returned to play basketball after missing 10 consecutive games due to an ankle sprain. But on his return, KD had a cold shooting night.

Durant shot just 5-18 from the field against the Minnesota Timberwolves. KD talked about his poor shooting night after the game and gave an honest answer to the reporters.

“Yeah, I was just telling the guys in the locker room,” Durant said. “It was hard for me to get sleep today. It was hard for me to stop thinking about the game. Sometimes you want it too bad. And then you come out and start playing, you start rushing and start taking uncharacteristic shots.”

Despite his poor shooting performance, Durant finished the game with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Hopefully, he will be back at his best over the next few games, as the 2022-23 NBA season is about to end.
