Russell Westbrook may not be the MVP-level player that he once was, but there is no doubt that he can still help a team with his energy, rebounding, playmaking, and slashing. As of right now, Russell Westbrook is averaging 15.9 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 7.5 APG.
Recently, we saw Russell Westbrook get moved to the Utah Jazz in a three-team deal that sent D’Angelo Russell to the Los Angeles Lakers. He might end up getting a buyout from the team, as they are currently a rebuilding franchise.
If he were to secure a buyout from the Jazz, there are already teams that are interested in him. Chris Haynes has recently reported that the Los Angeles Clippers and the Chicago Bulls are among the teams that are interested in acquiring Russell Westbrook if a buyout of his contract happens.
Should Russell Westbrook secure a buyout from the Utah Jazz after the three-team trade is complete, the Los Angeles Clippers are said to have interest in the star guard, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.

There is no doubt that Russell Westbrook could be solid for both of those franchises. The Los Angeles Clippers, in particular, need a point guard and have notably been linked with players such as Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet.
Lakers Might Regret Trading Russell Westbrook
Prior to him getting traded, Russell Westbrook was actually having a solid season for the Los Angeles Lakers. In fact, Stephen A. Smith recently claimed that he wouldn’t trade Russell Westbrook if he was the Lakers, though obviously, they didn’t listen to his advice.
“I’m not moving Russell Westbrook,” said Stephen A. “What I’ve seen from Westbrook on the court, coming off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers, cheering on his teammate when they do good things on the basketball court? I see a brother who always plays, always plays 100%, never cheats the game and oh, by the way, he’s playing well! I got a $47 million dude coming off the bench, that’s true, but if he’s coming off my cap at the end of the season why am I giving him away to eat up space that would prevent me from getting Kyrie Irving? I’m gonna roll with what I got.”
This deal is definitely a solid one for the Los Angeles Lakers on paper, but it could end up backfiring as well. After all, many thought that Russell Westbrook himself would be a superstar acquisition for the Lakers, but he ended up being inconsistent and a poor fit.
Only time will tell how this trade will turn out for the Los Angeles Lakers. They have no excuse to miss the playoffs now, and we will see how well they fare over the last part of the season.
