In what comes as perhaps the defining moment of Damian Lillard’s future with the Trail Blazers, the guard will be meeting with the team’s brass to discuss the team’s next direction.

NBA insider Chris Haynes reported the development saying Lillard and his agent Aaron Goodwin will meet with the team’s officials on Monday.

Per The Athletic’s Sam Amick, “Lillard likely won’t make a final decision on how to play this until the early stages of the free agency period have passed.” But amid reports of him being heavily linked with the Miami Heat, there’s no telling what the future looks like for Lillard and the Blazers.

Chances are this meeting will provide more clarity about his future in Portland. While Lillard has maintained that he indeed wants to be with the franchise and win titles, he is still surrounded by a rather average roster. Now, it remains to be seen what the outcome of the meeting will be.

Damian Lillard Has A Serious Interest In Joining The Miami Heat

It appears that Damian Lillard and the Miami Heat have a serious interest in linking up, and the buzz surrounding the two might just become a reality.

“Lillard indeed has a serious interest in joining the Heat, who would surely love to pair him with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. If it reaches this point — and there’s still an ‘if’ here considering all the times Lillard chose not to ask out before — Lillard’s wishes would matter a great deal because of the enormity of his contract,” reported Amick.

Earlier, it was reported that the Heat were keen on adding more firepower to support Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, and Lillard was their primary choice.

“Miami’s focus is Portland superstar Damian Lillard with the genuine belief this could be the offseason the veteran guard seeks a change of scenery, league sources tell NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report.”

With Lillard keen on winning a title, as do the Heat, it appears this move would be the most logical for both teams.
