Bradley Beal had a wholesome message to the Phoenix Suns fans after the blockbuster Washington Wizards trade earlier this month.
“To everyone in Phoenix: I’m excited to play for you all, and to be a part of the Suns organization,” Beal said. “One thing I’m realizing about this team is that the days of my sons wearing BEAL #3 jerseys are probably over. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be asking for #1 or #35. But I’ll take that L — this group has a chance to be special.”

Beal was referring to his children wearing either Devin Booker’s or Kevin Durant’s jerseys after he now suits up to play with two of the most prolific players in the NBA.
Despite being championship contenders in the league since the 2020-21 season, the Suns have fallen after coming agonizingly close to winning their maiden title.
They were looked at as bonafide title contenders when they traded for Durant ahead of the deadline this past season but were humbled by the Denver Nuggets in the second round.
The Suns have already pulled the trigger by trading Chris Paul and replacing Monty Williams with a new coach in Frank Vogel. The intent is clear, and Beal who shares the same excitement will now play as part of the latest superteam in the league.
Kevin Durant Recruited Bradley Beal To Form A New Superteam In Phoenix
Kevin Durant had a role to play in Bradley Beal being acquired by the Phoenix Suns. “Last week Bradley Beal and the Wizards worked on finding him a trade because the Wizards are clearly moving towards a rebuild. They started working together on finding him a home,” said The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
“The Phoenix Suns aggressively went after Bradley Beal. From James Jones to Frank Vogel to Mat Ishbia to Josh Bartelstein, their CEO and even some players — I’m told even Kevin Durant and Devin Booker recruited Bradley Beal. There were conversations with both Beal and his wife Kamiah. This team is all-in on a championship.”
Now that he’s a Sun, all eyes will be on the trio of Beal, Booker, and Durant to see how they fare. Only time will tell if the Suns will indeed hoist the silverware next season.
