Jerami Grant is a fantastic two-way forward, capable of being a supplementary offensive player while also guarding the best opposing perimeter player. He is the type of wing player that is crucial to winning a championship.
The Portland Trail Blazers have lacked elite forward play in the past, but they ended up trading for Jerami Grant ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft. Damian Lillard has recently spoken about Grant’s acquisition, pointing out that he “was on winning teams”, and that he can end up “filling a role” that the Trail Blazers needed.

Damian Lillard: “Getting Jerami was huge. You’ve got to be deep on the wing. Jerami is a guy that was on winning teams in Denver and Oklahoma City. … Filling a role that we needed and being able to do that job better than what we had.”
There is no doubt that the Trail Blazers have improved at both their forward positions over the past few months. They made moves to acquire Josh Hart and Jerami Grant, and it’s clear that they are going with more of a defensive approach to building around Damian Lillard. The Western Conference should be tough next season, and we’ll see if the Trail Blazers are able to make the playoffs next year.
Damian Lillard has recently signed an extension with the Portland Trail Blazers, and it looks as though he’ll be staying with the team for the foreseeable future. He has been loyal to the Trail Blazers throughout his career, despite reports linking him to other teams popping up frequently. Hopefully, we see him win a championship with the team during his career, but even if he doesn’t win a ring, he’ll be a Trail Blazers legend forever. Jerami Grant should help with those championship chances, though, and we’ll see how well he plays for the Trail Blazers next season.
