Damian Lillard Says Luka Doncic Is The MVP Right Now

2 Min Read

In a season with so many storylines, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are playing through one of the best Cinderella stories. After years of mediocrity, the Mavs struck gold in Doncic, who has quickly become one of the shining stars in the league.

Luka has them squarely in the Championship conversation as he posts some of the greatest sophomore numbers in history.

According to Damian Lillard, he is the front-runner for MVP.

“I mean he’s arguably the MVP of the league right now. His team is winning and he’s dominating game after game.”

Averaging 28 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 9 assists on 46% shooting. He’s near the top of every statistical category, comes up big for them in the clutch constantly, and has become the de-facto leader for the Mavs this season.

The team itself is soaring, boasting a 27-15 record and 6th place standing in the West. No doubt, Luka has been the main reason for their stunning turnaround and he will be around to see it through for many more years to come.

As for the MVP, who’s to say he doesn’t have a real shot to win it? It’d be a record-breaking event, but one we can’t rule out just yet, especially if he continues at his current pace.
