D’Angelo Russell Seemingly Takes Shot At Nick Young: “My Name Keep Dude Relevant, And I’m Going To Grave With ‘I Ain’t Do That Shit'”

3 Min Read

D’Angelo Russell is a former All-Star point guard who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Russell is well-known for his playmaking ability, but he has also been a solid tertiary scorer for the team. D’Angelo Russell averaged 18.1 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 7.1 APG this past season.

Though D’Angelo Russell is most well-known for his on-court play, he is also talked about due to some of his off-the-court activities. He notably had beef with former teammate Nick Young, and Young has recently stated that he’d like to face Russell in a boxing ring.

“Of course, you know, D-Lo – D’Angelo,” Young said. “Some guys on the Warriors, some guys on the Lakers. A couple of coaches.”

The reason for animosity between Nick Young and D’Angelo Russell is due to the latter exposing Young for cheating on his ex-girlfriend, Iggy Azalea. The couple then subsequently broke up.

D’Angelo Russell Seemingly Claps Back At Nick Young

D’Angelo Russell has seemingly issued a response to Nick Young, saying that he’d like to box him. Russell fired out a Tweet that suggested his name keeps Young relevant, and he also implied that he wasn’t the person who snitched.

There is no doubt that it must be frustrating to hear about something that happened years ago from D’Angelo Russell’s position. A lot of time has passed since Russell’s time on the Los Angeles Lakers, and he is quite likely ready to move on from this incident.

As of right now, though, D’Angelo Russell is likely getting ready for next season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The franchise made a win-now move for Rudy Gobert this off-season, and it’s clear that they are ready to compete for the championship. The Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot of talent on their roster, and it would be no surprise to see them reach the Western Conference Finals next season.

D’Angelo Russell’s production will be key for the Minnesota Timberwolves next season. They will need him to continue running the offense at a high level and improve his efficiency as well. Rudy Gobert is a player that mostly relies on assisted buckets on the offensive end. As the primary playmaker on the roster, D’Angelo Russell’s job will be to get him involved frequently offensively. Hopefully, we see D’Angelo Russell thrive next season. His contract will be expiring at the end of next season, and if he plays well, perhaps we’ll see the Minnesota Timberwolves give D’Angelo Russell a new contract.
