The players of the Los Angeles Lakers will not get a chance to sit out any more games this season unless injured.
Coach Darvin Ham made the announcement and made it clear that he expects his players to be available for every single game unless they cannot lace up. This signifies that the Lakers are officially entering playoff mode to ensure they can improve their win total enough to make it into the postseason.
Darvin Ham said this prior to the biggest test for the new-look Lakers, a game against the Golden State Warriors.
Darvin Ham said he expects every Lakers player to play the rest of the way — including back-to-backs — and not sit out games unless they are injured.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis have had legitimate injury concerns plague them throughout the season, including James missing games after he broke the all-time scoring record due to a foot injury. If either player is healthy enough to play, it doesn’t look like they’ll have the luxury of resting to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Can The Lakers Sustain This?
For a team that has had injuries essentially ruin stretches of this season and various stretches since their 2020 title, it may be a hard ask. If the players go too hard right now, they may be fatigued or playing with minor injuries when the playoffs start, provided they get in.
The Lakers will hope they can go on a substantial win streak as soon as possible to make sure they have some more breathing room at the end of the season to get some rest. The franchise has to find a delicate balance between pushing their players and protecting them, knowing the injury history of their two main stars.
James has played 46 games while Davis has been on the court for just 35 games so far of the Lakers’ 60 total games this season.
