DeMarcus Cousins was one of the best centers in the NBA during his prime. Multiple injuries have derailed him heavily as Boogie is currently waiting for a call to join an NBA team. His lack of playing time over the last few seasons has proven to many that Cousins’s NBA career is most likely over or still at its tail-end.
Many have felt the same way about John Wall, who we haven’t seen play meaningful basketball since his injury in 2018. Wall did play for the Houston Rockets in 2020-21, but it was a Rockets team that saw James Harden leave mid-season as they weren’t competing for a playoff spot. He was forcefully benched for the entire 2021-22 season.
With Wall signing for the LA Clippers, the same team Boogie spent part of his 2020-21 season with and has commented on how he feels about Wall signing with the franchise. Wall and Boogie were college teammates at Kentucky ad played together on that 2020-21 Rockets team together.

“John Wall is like a brother to me, he was the best man at my wedding. I think this is the perfect opportunity at the point of the career he is in. You know, you’ve had your ups and downs in your career, you start getting these labels, you start getting these reputations, and whatever. One thing about it, it can always clears when you add winning. The team is incredible, he’s got a great coach in Ty Lue, he’s in a first-class organization, Ballmer is an incredible owner. I think he’s in the perfect situation to take his career to the next level. Get it back on track to a point his name is in a positive light.”
John Wall provides exactly what the Clippers need in terms of a true floor general and facilitator. They have lacked the same over the last few years, with Patrick Beverley and Reggie Jackson trying to provide playmaking, along with Paul George.
It won’t be like the old John Wall, that would need to command the ball to find space for a drive at the rim. He may be more measured as a player and help create for the wing-heavy Clippers roster.
