Devin Booker is one of the future faces of the league. The Phoenix Suns star doesn’t get talked about like other big players, but he’s definitely earned his stripes with his performances on the court.
He reached the 2021 NBA Finals with the Suns, but Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks prevented him from winning his first NBA championship. This season, things are looking better than last year for Book and co., as they boast the league-best record and look like title favorites.
The shooting guard learned from the best, having an incredible mentor in Kobe Bryant, but the Black Mamba wasn’t the only one that helped him become who he is right now. Back in 2012, when he was 15, received an invitation to the LeBron James camp.
Obviously, this was a huge achievement for Devin, who couldn’t hide his excitement. He took to Twitter and sent a message about the upcoming camp, showing how much it meant for him.
“Can’t wait to go to Lebron camp!” the young Booker wrote at the time.
Can't wait to go to Lebron camp!

Booker attended the camp and it’s fair to say he had some good performances. Shooting 3s, throwing lobs, attacking the rim, assisting other players. He had a solid performance overall, getting the attention of LeBron, who was fresh off winning his first NBA championship.
Now, they are rivals in the NBA, with Booker eliminating the King in last year’s playoffs with his Phoenix Suns. One could say that series started the debacle for the Los Angeles Lakers, who are wandering around the NBA this season. Book also owns the last No. 23 shirt worn by LeBron James, which is a great feat.
Life is really interesting and sometimes we don’t know the things we can achieve when we are young. Devin never stopped chasing his dreams and now is one of the best players in the league, leading a team that has big championship aspirations.
