The Minnesota Timberwolves walked out of the Chase Center with a 106-100 win over the Golden State Warriors where Draymond Green and Anthony Edwards had a heated verbal altercation late in the fourth quarter.

Anthony Edwards: God Damn!

Draymond Green: You think I’m gonna give you a layup? F**k out of here. What are you gonna do about it?

Draymond committed that foul with the Warriors down 13, but his energy did seem to spark a run as they cut it down to four points near the end. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the jump shots ran dry and the Wolves saw out a strong six-point win to win their sixth game in a row.

Edwards was the leading man in the win, dropping 33 points with six rebounds and seven assists to lead the Wolves. He was perfectly complemented by Karl-Anthony Towns’ 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Rudy Gobert notched 10 points and 10 rebounds along with five blocks.

The Warriors had no one looking to score outside of Stephen Curry who dropped 38 points in the loss. Klay Thompson got 16 points on inefficient shooting while Kevon Looney, Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, and Moses Moody joined Thompson as sub-33% shooters. Draymond Green also is in that club but had an all-around game with nine points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.

Draymond Green Got Ejected In His Last Game For Similar Behaviour

Draymond Green is the instigator on the court for Golden State, but he often finds himself in trouble when he does this. Today, he got off without a harsher penalty though that wasn’t the case yesterday when he acted similarly against Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen

Green trash-talked Allen, which led to Mitchell coming to his center’s defense. This led to Green escalating the situation and getting ejected from the game, as the Warriors fell to a single-digit loss to the Cavaliers at home.

With the Wolves also coming in and beating the Warriors, the team will be concerned about their positive start to the season being erased in two games. They are currently 6-5, falling behind the Mavericks, Timberwolves, Rockets, and Thunder in the race to the top of the West.

The Warriors Have A Scoring Problem

The Golden State Warriors have had a very rocky offense to start the season. They have essentially been single-handedly carried by the greatness of Stephen Curry, who’s averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists to start the season. Dario Saric is the only other Warriors player to have scored 20 points this season, an extremely worrying trend for the Warriors.

They traded their best secondary scorer away for the measured point guard play of Chris Paul. But Paul’s inability to score at a high level anymore has hurt the team as much as his playmaking has helped the bench unit succeed. Paul is averaging 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.3 assists and was 0/3 on field goal attempts tonight.

With Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson also having slow starts to the season, this year may look similar to the 2020-21 season where the Warriors fell out of the playoffs in the play-in tournament after Curry won the scoring title by carrying them to the seventh seed.

That would be a rude awakening for the franchise, which may finally have to pivot away from the big three that brought a dynasty to rebuild a younger core in Curry’s final seasons in his prime.
