Draymond Green is one of the best defenders in the league, and quite possibly one of the best defenders we have ever seen. Draymond Green is known for his ability to defend any position, and that includes the center position. Despite being undersized, Draymond Green has always held his own well against the top centers in the league.

Draymond Green has defended two leading MVP candidates in recent games: Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. They are some of the best players in the league, and no defender is going to fully stop them. In a recent media appearance, Draymond Green tried to explain to everyone what it’s like guarding two top-tier big men in the NBA today.

Well, both of them probably outweight me by a good 50 pounds. Both probably got me by 5 or 6 inches at least. That alone presents its challenges. Two of the most skilled players we have in the league, regardless of position… You just try to make them take tough shots… Both of those guys they make tough shots. But over the course of the 48, if you can try and make them take tough shots, you just gotta live with the results.

Draymond Green is going to make his defender work for every basket, and that mentality is evident here. While premier superstars will still score on good defenders, as Draymond Green says, if you can make Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid take tough looks throughout the game, you are on the right track. Draymond Green is an impressive defender, and even if he doesn’t completely stop a superstar, you know that he will still give them a tough time.
