The Chicago Bulls discovered a gold mind when they drafted Michael Jordan. Jordan took just a few seasons to get well-adjusted in the league, and following that, he never looked back.
Behind MJ’s amazing talent, the Chicago Bulls completed two three-peats and won six NBA Championships in the 1990s. Mike and co. had a perfect 6-0 record in the NBA Finals and never even let a team push them to seven games in a Finals series.
Combining these with a plethora of other accolades, Mike earned the title of greatest player of all time (GOAT) from millions of fans. So much so that even today, people regard him as the GOAT over the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and many more.
But is it possible that in the future, fans will start to forget MJ’s name from the GOAT debate? That seems highly unlikely. However, former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade once made such a claim regarding Jordan, and he used the example of how people forget about Kareem when talking about the GOAT debate to justify his name.

“These GOATs, these names that we throw out, it’s not gonna just be a lot of those players. But the game continues to keep moving forward. And so we are gonna continue to see things that we have never seen before. And the eyes are gonna get younger and younger. We are not going to have a conversation about the GOATs. Now it’s going to be the younger, younger, younger generation. And they’re gonna forget about Jordan like we forget about Kareem.”
Wade initially made this claim in the “Armchair Expert” podcast, but the video has now been deleted.
While the video may have been deleted, Wade’s comments about MJ will never be forgotten by fans. Additionally, Jordan’s one of the most iconic players to ever play in the NBA. Keeping that in mind, there’s no way that fans will forget about Jordan for at least a few hundred years.
