There is no doubt that Dwyane Wade is one of the legends of the game, and many consider him to be the greatest player in Miami Heat history. He notably was part of three championships with the team, winning Finals MVP in 2006.

When speaking to Shannon Sharpe, Dwyane Wade suggested that he would have been in the GOAT conversation if he didn’t deal with injuries. Wade noted that he was scoring wherever he wanted during the 2006-2008 period.

“You doing the GOAT conversation with me… You take the injuries away, I’m still playing basketball right now if I want to… In my mind, I’m one of them dudes… You couldn’t tell me in 06, 07, 08 I wasn’t going where I wanted to.”

From the 2005-06 to the 2007-08 season, Dwyane Wade averaged 26.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 7.0 APG for the Miami Heat. There is no doubt that he was a highly effective player during that time, and was one of the premier superstars in the league.

It is strange to think about Dwyane Wade as a “what if” story simply because he has accomplished so much in the league. However, it is clear that he could have had an even more dominant peak, which is insane to even consider.

Dwyane Wade Once Explained How Shaquille O’Neal Helped Him Become A Superstar

Dwyane Wade showed the world that he was a superstar in 2006, after winning his first championship. His co-star for that run was Shaquille O’Neal, and once, Wade revealed that O’Neal helped him become a superstar.

“Shaq is a very honest man to me. Our relationship is a one-two punch, he came in and he sat down just like this, it was very candid, it was very short he was like, ‘Listen, Flash, this is your team, I’m gonna help you become one of the greatest to play this game, I wanna help you be a superstar.”

It remains to be seen if there will be a Miami Heat player in the future that can surpass Dwyane Wade’s accomplishments with the team. If that does happen, it will definitely take some time, and Dwyane Wade’s name without a doubt is synonymous with the Heat franchise right now.
