Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most unique players of this generation. While he was drafted as a lanky wing with extremely high potential, he has transformed himself physically to be better than what people anticipated. The lanky wing is now a bruising power forward and one of the best players of his era, winning countless accolades in the last 5 years.

During his time in the NBA, he’s had encounters with many big men around the league. One of those players was Enes Kanter Freedom, as the pair had an altercation on the court in 2019 when Kanter was playing for the Knicks.

Allegedly, Kanter said that he wanted to fight Giannis, something the 2-time MVP responded to by saying that Enes ‘didn’t want the smoke‘. Kanter has dismissed the rumors that he wants to fight Giannis while speaking to Emily Austin on The GameDay.

“Okay, let me just make it really clear. I don’t remember saying anything like that. I am actually trying to keep it cool with the Greek people right now… I don’t remember saying it. Maybe I said it like years and years ago. It’s weird it came out like three, four days ago.”

Kanter has been out of the NBA since being released by the Boston Celtics last season. There are off-court controversies that have impacted Kanter getting a new NBA contract but there are teams in the NBA that could use his skills, especially in getting the ball off the glass.

Which Teams Could Use Enes Kanter?

Kanter is among the many NBA players that are on the free agent market but has a very defined specialty. Kanter was one of the most proficient rebounders in the NBA during his time, having 3 seasons where he averaged 11 rebounds. One of those seasons was just 2 years ago, so he definitely has something to provide still.

He can be a defensive liability on the court at times, which is why he didn’t work out with the Celtics. But teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Brooklyn Nets could use someone like him to rebound and generate second-chance opportunities more often.
