Jimmy Butler, who plays basketball for the Miami Heat, is making a name for himself on and off the court.

The six-time All-Star has recently confirmed his plan to expand Big Face Coffee, his specialty coffee brand while highlighting his strong connection to the Miami community.

Two days ago, Butler spent five to six hours playing dominoes and engaging with fans while immersed in the local culture at his Miami Big Face Coffee shop. It wasn’t a one-time thing. This is how he loves to spend his free time.

A Long Day with the Locals

“A long day of being around the locals, people that I’ve seen time and time again when I was here,” Butler said. “Some of the squad came by. It was a good time. What I really enjoy on days off is being around my people, playing a competitive game. It gets you locked in, and before you know it, you’ve been there five or six hours.”

Butler and Draymond Green, teammates on the Warriors, went undefeated on the dominoes’ table throughout the day. “Me and Dre went undefeated, so that’s always great,” he added with a smile.

 Big Face Coffee Expansion Plans

Butler confirmed that Big Face Coffee is not going anywhere and that his store is a community space, not just a business.

“That’s worldly. That has nothing to do with basketball,” Butler explained. “It’s all about having a place to go, vibe out, chill, and not have to worry about signing autographs and taking photos. Just go in there and be yourself.”

Butler hinted that Big Face Coffee would soon be available in more locations, including the Bay Area and internationally.

“Yeah, yeah. A lot more places. Definitely in the Bay, but we’re talking all around the world,” Butler said.

“We got some big things coming very soon.”

 More Than Just Coffee

In 2020, Butler’s NBA bubble business, which sold $20 cups of coffee to fellow players, became a legitimate coffee empire. Big Face Coffee’s growth is rooted in its passion for coffee, community, and competition.

Butler’s competitive spirit is unmistakable, regardless of whether he’s dominating on the court or at the dominoes table.

With Big Face Coffee expanding, fans can expect more than great brews. They’ll find a space where people can connect, relax, and, if they’re lucky, catch Butler for a game of dominoes.
