Kobe Bryant’s memorabilia is arguably among the most valuable in the world of sports. Being able to own something given, worn, or used by Kobe is massive, but not everyone thinks that. A Taiwanese fan gifted a basketball given to his family by Kobe in 2006 to streamer Kai Cenat live on stream.

Fans aren’t happy about this, with some joking about how angry the family will be when they find out where the ball went.

Imagine you looking for the ball and yo son says he gave it to Kai Cenat https://t.co/iCHlx1Tcyq

Some fans even fact-checked if Kobe had been to Taiwan in 2006, with photographic proof to support the claim.

Fans were upset that such a highly valuable ball was given to a multi-millionaire streamer for nothing.

Some fans were shocked at how fans are worshipping streamers like Kai that they’d give up a family heirloom like this.

Fans even joked that the kid may be in store for a beating from his father when he finds out where the ball went.

In all fairness to Kai, he did try to return the ball to the fan who gifted it to him. He made sure the fan realized the value of what he was giving him, and then took him out for lunch and even gave him some money for bringing the gift.

Whether Kobe Bryant himself gave the ball to the family is unclear, but fans have found proof that Bryant was visiting the country in 2006. Memorabilia associated with Kobe is extremely valuable, especially since his untimely passing in January 2020.

Some of the notable pieces of gear that Kobe used over his career have fetched millions in organized auctions. Last year, a jersey that Kobe had worn for 15 games of the championship-winning 2007-08 season was sold for $5.8 million. The previous most expensive Kobe-related thing to be sold was a game-worn autographed jersey from his rookie season, which fetched $3.7 million in 2021.

The ball may not be worth a lot in financial terms if it wasn’t a game ball or a ball that Bryant himself used to use, but giving up something like that to a streamer you idolize is an incredible amount of commitment.
