The Los Angeles Lakers narrowly walked away with a 122-119 win over the San Antonio Spurs, who made a storming fourth-quarter comeback to push the game to the final possession. Fans were treated to a sensational big-man battle between Anthony Davis and Victor Wembanyama, as LeBron James sat this game out for rest.

Fans called the Davis and Wembanyama battle a ‘big-man masterpiece.’

Fans acknowledged that LeBron and AD were made to confront the future by watching Wembanyama have the impact that he did.

Fans realized that Wembanyama is doing things we don’t often see rookies achieve.

Wembanyama’s lights-out three-point shooting in the fourth quarter helped the Spurs come back from double-digits, making fans compare him to Ray Allen.

Eagle-eyed fans observed how Wembanyama’s comfort in the game grew after he started to realize how AD plays, correctly adjusting his game plan to make it difficult for AD.

Most Laker fans were upset at the fact their team barely won this game.

Some fans are even calling it their worst win of the season.

With LeBron out, Anthony Davis stepped up to have another big game, dropping 37 points with 10 rebounds and four steals. Every Lakers starter reached double-digits in scoring, along with Austin Reaves off the bench. The defense was strong for most of the game, with the Lakers forcing a lot of turnovers, but their poor fourth-quarter play made that pointless.

The Spurs were led by Victor Wembanyama’s incredible 30 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks. After he fouled out at the end of the game, the Spurs stood no chance of winning this. Keldon Johnson was a fantastic co-star on the night, dropping 29 points with five rebounds and eight assists.

A Win Is A Win For The Lakers

The Spurs are among the three-worst teams in the NBA right now, with this loss extending their losing streak to 18 games now. The Lakers looked to be in firm control of the game before Wembanyama started pulling out magical moments in the second half, along with a fantastic Keldon Johnson performance. The Lakers shouldn’t be put to the test like this by a team like San Antonio, given how poor they’ve been this season.

Anthony Davis playing at such a high level on a back-to-back is extremely commendable, especially with LeBron out. This is the second game LeBron has missed this season, with Davis ensuring that the Lakers have picked up wins in both games. It does look like he’s battling an injury at the moment, so it’ll be interesting to see how long Davis can keep playing without missing a game. He’s only missed one game so far this season.

The Lakers are now 15-10, improving to be the fifth seed in the West. Given the struggles of other supposed contenders like the Warriors, Clippers, and Suns, the Lakers are on track to have a great season. However, their focus will be on catching the Wolves, Thunder, and Mavericks who have surprised everyone this year to occupy the top three spots in the West.
