The Los Angeles Lakers have officially fallen below .500 once again in the last two seasons, losing to the Miami Heat 107-108 in a hard-fought loss. The Lakers came back from down double digits in the fourth to steal the win, but it was too little too late for them to convert it into a win.
Fans had some hilarious reactions to the Lakers’ performance.

Fans are already calling this among the worst coaching staffs in Lakers history.

Fans were furious that Cam Reddish was the one everyone trusted to take the final shot of the game, especially with the Lakers down by just one point.

Fans even attacked LeBron James for passing out the game-winner to an open Cam Reddish, who bricked it.
There’s no way Lebron depended on Cam Reddish to bail him out in the clutch..

A terrific LeBron performance went to waste, which upset not only Lakers fans but also casual NBA fans.
Painful watching Lebron do everything right and still lose.

LeBron James put on his backpack and carried his team to a competitive finish after Anthony Davis picked up a groin injury. James ended the night with 30 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks. He shot 56.5% from the floor, but without AD, he didn’t have anyone to reliably contribute by making game-winning plays. Austin Reaves had a 23-point double-double with rebounds, falling one assist shy away from his first career triple-double.
The Heat was led by Jimmy Butler‘s 28 points, but Bam Adebayo put on a monstrous statline of his own. He notched a triple-double with 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists, an incredible game after the franchise started the seasons 1-4.
Both the Lakers and the Heat are tied at 3-4 in the standings right now. It’s a make-or-break league, and the Heat made the most of their chances tonight, especially when Davis went down.
Should The Lakers Start Panicking?
This was supposed to be a season where the Lakers were among the title contenders at the end of the year. But through their first seven games, the team has really struggled in almost every game. They can’t blow their opponents out and have been heavily reliant on second-half comebacks to remain competitive.
Without Davis, the team may be in a world of trouble, especially with James playing 37 minutes every night. This could cause a sense of panic around the camp, as the Lakers frontcourt has already been decimated due to injuries.
Rui Hachimura is also waiting for his turn to get on the table and contribute to big projects, but it fully depends on whether the Lakers will trust him to be a third or fourth option once he returns.
The Lakers also aren’t afraid of making big trades when they are available for the Lakers. This season likely sees the team be cautious with how they spend their money, as well as how they bring Davis back from injury.
The Lakers will have a mountain to climb and remain competitive in the West, and they have to do it from a point where they are already 3-4.
