Former NBA Champion Explains Why Giannis Antetokounmpo Can Be ‘More Special’ Than LeBron James And Kevin Durant

Giannis Antetokounmpo had already earned the praise, respect, and recognition all over the sports community. Then again, some people were still questioning his skills and ability to dominate in the playoffs.

But after leading the Milwaukee Bucks to their first championship in the past 50 years and having one of the greatest performances in a closeout NBA Finals game, there aren’t many things any of his haters can say right now.

That’s why former NBA Champion Bob Dandridge believes that Giannis has a chance to be even more special than other legends of the game, such as LeBron James or Kevin Durant:

“If he just lets the game come to him and not try to force anything, he’s gonna step right into a level with LeBron and Durant. And I think he has something special that these guys don’t have. He has that energy level, exceptional skill. So, I mean if he gets three, that’ll be great. But, he comes back and plays just like he’s played these final 2 games, I’d be just perfectly happy with him. Because, he just showed a lot things in this last game that LeBron and Durant just has never shown me,” Dandridge said.

Needless to say, everybody’s entitled to his opinion and there’s no need to take down a player to praise the other. Then again, he’s got a somewhat valid point.

Giannis has already put together a Hall of Famer kind of résumé and he’s yet to reach his prime. He’s just 26 years old and is a 2-time MVP, Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, and NBA Champion.

There’s no need to compare Giannis to LeBron or Durant when we can just enjoy watching them all play. But if he keeps this up, he might as well go down as the most accomplished player of all time.
