Gabe Vincent was one of the key stars for the Miami Heat during their fairytale run to the 2023 NBA Finals. Vincent was a reliable player for Miami and capitalized on his stock being so high. Vincent signed a 3-year, $33 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he will get to play with LeBron James.

Vincent apparently has a lot of respect for the four-time NBA champion, dating back all the way to his college days. An old Tweet from Vincent’s days at UC Santa Barbara resurfaced recently, where he said that LeBron James would be the best player in the NBA until he retired.

“I hate the question of who is the best player in the NBA… It’s stupid… Has LeBron retired yet? It’s not gonna change until he does…”

Vincent clearly had a lot of admiration for James and held him in high regard. Additionally, In 2017, the debate was raging about who was the best player between LeBron James and Kevin Durant. James would go on to have an incredible season, where he led a less-than-stellar Cavaliers team to the NBA Finals.

Gabe Vincent Will Be A Key Role Player For The Lakers

Vincent will get the chance to play alongside the man he considers the best player in the NBA. James recently claimed that he is like a Swiss Army Knife, considering his game to be very versatile.

Gabe Vincent averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 rebounds last season. This year, his numbers could increase, as he would get the chance to play more minutes going forward.

Vincent, now that he has key NBA Finals experience, will be a massive get for the Lakers. Adding to their roster with more Finals experience along with LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be really important. And he can play an important role in the team going fast.
