Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has his teammate Khris Middleton’s back. The latter hasn’t really gotten going since his return from injury but still has some strong support from the team’s mainstay.
Middleton was a notable absentee for the Bucks during their playoff skirmish against the Boston Celtics. He missed a good stretch of games this year before suiting up against the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this month. However, he’s yet to look like the Middleton of the old.
The rust was further compounded by a woeful shooting night against the Memphis Grizzlies. The forward scored just three points in a shocking 1-of-12 shooting as Milwaukee was blown away 142-101.
Giannis Antetokoummpo Believes Khris Middleton Will Bounce Back To Form
Khris Middleton has time to get some rhythm going, and much of it has to do with the Milwaukee Bucks‘ solid record. Despite the loss to Memphis, they still sit second in the East with a 20-8 record, and that serves as a cushion as he looks to regain his effective shooting touch.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the defeat, Antetokounmpo wasn’t worried about his teammate’s dip in form. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
“Khris is gonna be Khris, he’s going to find his rhythm. He’s a great player. He’s going to get easy looks and once he gets his rhythm he’s going to be a bad man. But obviously, he hasn’t even played 10 games into the season. He’s going to find his rhythm. He’s going to be fine. He’s going to be great for us.”
There’s no doubt that the side will back Middleton, who was instrumental for the team during their 2021 Championship run.
The Bucks did fairly well without him in the initial stages of the season, and as they look to consolidate their position, they could use Middleton’s skill. He’s played just seven games this season and averages 11.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. The 31-year-old has a chance to make his forgetful night against the Grizzlies look like a one-off when he suits up the Utah Jazz at home next.
