Giannis Antetokounmpo is en route to becoming the NBA athlete that will be used by everyone as an example of what a model player is. He was loyal to a small-market team and took them all the way to an NBA Championship, he has won almost every award he could contend for, and is a staunch family man.

Giannis overcame many challenges throughout his life, immigrating to Greece from Nigeria with his family and then watching his family struggle to make ends meet and support the large family. Antetokounmpo is now arguably the best player in the league and a multi-millionaire, so he can rest assured generations of his children and grandchildren won’t have to struggle as he did.

The Greek Freak already has a growing family with 2 sons. His eldest son is Liam Antetokounmpo, who is a 2-year-old. The Antetokounmpo family will be celebrating the birthday of Giannis’s youngest son, Maverick, today. The former 2-time MVP shared a picture of his 1-year-old and wished him a happy birthday.

Giannis is still just 27 years old, so his young family is going to see him go through the prime of his career. Neither Liam nor Maverick will be able to tell the tale of watching their father win the 2021 NBA Championship, but hopefully, Giannis delivers for the Bucks again and gives his children those memories to cherish.

The Bucks are going to be perennial favorites for the championship as long as they have Giannis on the court. As the Bucks core is going to start showing signs of age soon, the team will hope that the trio of Giannis, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday will deliver another title in 2022-23.

Life outside the court seems to be going good for Giannis, with his family being secure and all his brothers playing alongside him for the Greek national team at EuroBasket 2022. Win or lose, the experience of being alongside family in one of the most competitive international tournaments will boost his morale heading into the 2022-23 NBA season.
