After Damian Lillard requested a trade away from the Portland Trail Blazers, there has been a lot of talk about loyalty in the NBA once again.

And two superstars have stayed loyal to their franchises longer than most, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry. The Greek Freak seemingly seems to think that they are the only loyal stars left in the NBA, though, at least, that’s what a post he shared said.

A page shared pictures of Antetokounmpo and Curry with the caption, “That last two remaining loyal players in the league. They don’t make ’em like this anymore.” Giannis quoted that tweet, simply sharing an emoji seemingly agreeing with the take.

Stephen Curry was selected as the No. 7 overall pick by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA Draft. Since then, he has won four championships with the franchise, along with two MVP awards and a Finals MVP. Curry will surely be a Warrior for life, having enjoyed enough success and made enough money to never need to leave.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was selected with the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, where he has developed into arguably the world’s best player. Giannis is also an NBA champion and a Finals MVP, as well as being a two-time MVP. And despite a lack of consistent success, he has shown every sign of staying in Milwaukee forever. But it might be a bit controversial to say they’re the only ones.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Still Move Away In The Future

Giannis Antetokounmpo has won a championship already, so he’s unlikely to feel immediate pressure, but he could still leave Milwaukee in the future. According to reports, there are teams already monitoring his situation. Our writer, Eddie Bitar, wrote an article exploring potential next destinations for Giannis. He’s only 28 years old, so it might be a little early to say this, it could backfire on him.

Another factor is that there are superstars in the NBA that could still fit this bill. Nikola Jokic has now achieved all the same things as Giannis, and he has always been with the Denver Nuggets. Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum are younger but are not leaving their franchises anytime soon, either. While Giannis can claim to be loyal, he’s not the only superstar in the NBA that can say that.
