Luka Doncic is one of a kind. There’s no doubt. He’s a special kind of talent and one of the most unique players to ever live, and he continues to prove it day after day.
Not only did he thrive with Real Madrid as a teenager and then made it to the NBA to dominate with the Dallas Mavericks right out of the gate. But now, he’s leading Slovenia to a 16-0 record in international play.
That’s why former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas – who’s a confessed Doncic fan – believes that he can definitely lead his team to the Olympic gold medal if he keeps up this play:
“S*it, he did it for Dallas. That YMCA team he had, got them to the playoffs, bruh. I’m serious… that YMCA team, bruh. So he has a chance, he has a chance, Yes!” Arenas said during a Big 3 conference.
Doncic has been even more impressive at the FIBA level than he’s been in the NBA. He’s the ultimate floor general and the fact that he’s turned a non-contending team into a legit threat is a true testament to his greatness.
Even so, leading his team to the Olympic gold will be way easier said than done. The Olympics feature plenty of talent and dominant teams – including Team USA and multiple NBA players.
So, if Doncic actually pulls it off, where will that rank among the all-time greatest achievements in basketball history? That would be a run for the ages, that’s for sure.
