Kyle Kuzma Has Car Stolen, Crashed In High-Speed Car Choice

3 Min Read

Kyle Kuzma has had a whirlwind week. Earlier last week, Kuzma was traded, along with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell in a deal that brought Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers. The entire league has been reacting to this news, with Kuzma himself sending a thinly veiled message to the Lakers’ fanbase that had been so critical of him in recent years. But now, Kuzma has a bigger problem to deal with.

According to TMZ, Wizards star Kyle Kuzma’s SUV was stolen, and subsequently taken for a ride by the person who stole it. At some point, the carjacker became the subject of a high-speed police chase, leading to him eventually crashing the vehicle into a police car and injuring an officer to the point where they needed to be hospitalized. The person who originally stole the car was apprehended by the police and is facing numerous charges.

“Kuzma’s SUV was stolen … and then taken on a joy ride that led to a high-speed chase, and an eventual crash.”

“Law enforcement sources tell us … Kuzma’s Chevy Tahoe SUV was stolen somewhere in Hollywood and eventually became involved in a police pursuit around 1:30 AM early Sunday morning. The chase, we’re told, ended with the suspect hitting a cop car, and sending an officer to the hospital with minor injuries.”

There aren’t too many details at the moment about the incident, and Kuzma hasn’t made any kind of public statement on the issue as of yet. This incident occurred just a few days after his trade from LA before he makes his move to Washington.

With Kuzma’s departure, the young Lakers core from the late 2010s has now fully been removed from the franchise. Kuzma will now look to become a key figure in the Washington Wizards franchise, as he looks for a more consistent role with the franchise. After the arrival of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Kuzma’s minutes took a significant reduction. And with the reduced minutes, his performances also went on a decline.
