Horace Grant Blasts Michael Jordan: ‘Lie, Lie, Lie… MJ Is A Snitch’

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls’ documentary came to an end last Sunday with the last two of 10 episodes. We witnessed the journey of MJ with the Bulls since he was a rookie trying to make an impact on the Bulls until he grudgingly retired in 1998 after former Bulls GM Jerry Krause decided it was time to rebuild at the United Center.

Of course, after the docu-series finished, everybody wanted to give their opinion on it and also clarified some things that were said throughout the event. One of those is former Bulls Horace Grant, whose relationship with Jordan wasn’t the best. Jordan even once accused Grant of leaking information to journalist Sam Smith for his book, The Jordan Rules.

Horace claimed in the documentary that he didn’t say anything about anyone to Smith, but MJ was convinced he was the ‘snitch’ on the roster in 1991 when the controversial book was published. Now, during an interview with ESPN Radio in Chicago Grant doubled down his comments, labeling Jordan’s claims as a “downright lie”, saying MJ was the actual snitch for some of the things he said on the docu-series.

Via CBS Sports:

That is a downright, outright, completely lie. Lie, lie, lie. And as I stated, if M.J. had a grudge with me, let’s settle it like men. Let’s talk about it, or we can settle it another way. Yet and still, he puts out this lie out that I was the source behind it. Sam and I have always been great friends, we’re still great friends. But the sanctity of that locker room, I would never put anything personal out there. The mere fact that Sam Smith was an investigative reporter, that he had to have two sources — two — to write a book. Why would M.J. just point me out?

It’s only a grudge man, and I think he proved that during the so-called documentary. If you say something about him, he’s gonna cut you off, he’s gonna try to destroy your character. I mean, Charles Barkley, they’ve been friends for over 20, 30 years, and he said something about Michael’s management with the Charlotte Bobcats or Charlotte Hornets, and they haven’t spoken since then.

My point is, he says I was the snitch, but still after 35 years he brings up his rookie year, going into one of his teammates’ rooms and seeing coke and weed and women. My point is, why did he want to bring that up? What does that got to do with anything? If you want to call somebody a snitch, that’s a damn snitch right there.

Grant wasn’t taking anything for anybody, not even Michael Jordan, and he’s still holding his position that he didn’t say a word to Smith during their time together. MJ is convinced Grant was the one who provided the sensitive information Smith put in his book, but we’ll never know who actually revealed the secrets inside the Bulls organization.

Meanwhile, neither Jordan or Grant will change their minds about each other. Right now, they consider one another a snitch and that is very unlikely to change shortly.
