Devin Booker reminded NBA fans of just how talented he is with a massive Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets. In a game they needed to win, Booker had 47 points and led the way for the Suns.

Kevin Durant had a huge performance himself, even though it wasn’t the most efficient. He had 39 points on the night and contributed massively to the win. After the game, he heaped praise on Booker and called him the leader of the franchise.

“Book just, I can’t say enough about Book, like I’m at a loss for words,” Durant said. “Just how he approaches the game, how he’s just a leader of this team, this organization. How he brings it every single day, and we just follow his imprint. And, we rally around him, and tonight was one of those nights.”

The great praise that Durant has given Booker is earned, a performance like that commands respect. And it says a lot about the young shooting guard that he has been able to maintain his position as the leader of the franchise despite the arrival of an all-time great and established superstar like Kevin Durant.

The Phoenix Suns will need Devin Booker to continue taking over games and being dominant, they can’t afford for him to have a bad game with Chris Paul out. The Denver Nuggets are tough opponents, but it would take Booker’s stardom to the next level if he can help his team overcome them and get to the Western Conference Finals.

Devin Booker Has Shown He Is Built To Be A Leader

After his big night in Game 3, Devin Booker remained level-headed, even going as far as to say that he is still trying to figure out the offensive balance of the team. He has shown that he has leadership qualities, especially based on his response to going down 0-2 in this series against the Nuggets

“I love it. I just love playoff basketball,” Booker said. “That’s the first thing I said when I got in the locker room. You just have to love this s***, embrace it. There’s not many people that get the chance to do what we’re doing, playing the highest level of basketball. So, competent at the highest level, don’t forget to have fun with it and just get after it, every time we get a chance.”

For Kevin Durant, Devin Booker is arguably the most dependable co-star he has played next to since Stephen Curry. And that combination led to the championship. Booker might not be Curry, but if he wants to become one of the game’s true greats, now is the time to take that next step and consolidate himself.
