Iman Shumpert Wasn’t Shocked That Patrick Beverley Called Chris Paul A ‘Traffic Cone’: “Patrick Beverley Plays Like That, He Say Sh*t Like That… Stop Acting Like Y’All Don’t Know How Patrick Beverley Feel About You, He Gon’ Tell You At The Jump Ball.”

Patrick Beverley caused a lot of controversy after his comments on Chris Paul. After the Phoenix Suns were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs, Beverley made a few appearances on ESPN where he dismissed Chris Paul as a player and said that he is not as good as everyone says he is.

Beverley even called CP3 a traffic cone on defense. Beverley has had a history with Chris Paul, so his comments dismissing him were not surprising. But they were not at all well received.

Former NBA champion Iman Shumpert spoke recently about Beverley’s comments on Chris Paul. He noted that he is not surprised by what Beverley had to say about CP3.

He added that Beverley is the kind of player who will make it clear to you and the world that he does not like you. And while Beverley may not be on the level of CP3, he does compete with him and guards him when he plays against him (till 2:03).

“No. He competes with Chris Paul. WHo does he have to guard when he plays him?… I’m always this guy that, I know good and well whats right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. All I’m saying is, I don’t be surprised. Patrick Beverley plays like that, he say sh*t like that. When he said that, he said ‘this ain’t a secret to the league. He wasn’t saying we all feel this way. But stop acting like y’all don’t know how Patrick Beverley feel about you. He gon’ tell you when the jump ball go up. This aint the first time Chris Paul heard that. It sucks because we’re in this sensitive time now. You know Patrick Beverley is going to say, I didn’t know he was going to go on a rant and call him a traffic cone. It was funny, but whatever beef they had since he pushed shorty, that’s clearly what that was, but we’re not surprised are we? He’s always going at people…”

Chris Paul did not comment on anything that Pat Bev had to say. But many other people in the media, current, and former players have come to Paul’s defense and slammed Pat Bev for what he had to say.

Damian Lillard slammed Beverley for his comments, pointing to the fact that Beverley’s comments were extremely unprovoked and unnecessary.

Beverley added some context to their beef, noting that he destroyed Paul at LeBron James’ camp before either star entered the league. So clearly, the beef they have has been brewing for a while.
