James Harden and the Brooklyn Nets are on everybody's mouths around the NBA right now. People are still trying to figure out how the Nets will play with him, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant. Some believe that they're clear frontrunners to win the title, others that they're a time bomb waiting to implode.

Whatever the case may be, former Boston Celtics star Isiah Thomas recently took to NBA Radio to discuss his stance on this move, claiming that he wasn't surprised to see the trade unfold after James Harden's infamous interview:

“So the trade, I definitely wasn’t surprised because the night before, the interview after the game, that was kind of the cherry on top, right there, to see that relationship was over. It was just a matter of time, them finding the right situation, right guys to make the trade," Thomas said.

It's been a while since we last saw Isaiah Thomas in the NBA. However, the 5'9'' All-Star has stayed ready and waiting to have another chance to make an NBA roster, even if it seems like there hasn't been much interest in his services.

Then again, the James Harden trade left the Brooklyn Nets quite shorthanded in terms of depth, and the NBA and NBPA are reportedly discussing adding another roster spot due to the Covid-19 pandemic. That's why IT believes that the moment is perfect for him to make his long-overdue comeback:

“It’s a players’ league, and the scary thing over there in Brooklyn with those guys, they have to make that [indiscernible] they have in those, three talented, All-NBA, All-Stars, MVPs, and all that on the same team. So, that was a crazy day, but that is the NBA and you never know a move like that can probably open up things for a guy like myself.”

Hopefully, Thomas will have yet another shot to prove what he's capable of. When healthy, he was one of the most disruptive scorers in the league, even leading the NBA in points in the fourth quarter.

Thomas isn't likely to have that kind of big role ever again but he could definitely offer a scoring punch to any team off the bench, and he's waited long enough already. Make the call!
