Jalen Rose believes that men should spend a whopping $100 on haircuts. The man known for some quirky fashion now has some expensive advice to offer.

The former NBA star has garnered attention previously for some of his fashion statements, and the 50-year-old took to Instagram, where he gave a shoutout to hair stylists and defended them.

Speaking on the sidelines of an event sporting another of his unique hairstyles and his trademark glasses, Rose had a word of support for the barbers and the beauticians.

“So first off, the minimum you are supposed to be spending for a quality barber $100. I’m here to defend the sanctuary that is called barbers and beauticians. So many guys and people out there think y’all gon’ show up and get a fly haircut, and y’all gon’ spend $35.”

He didn’t stop at that.

“Y’all gon’ go to the end of the line, y’all gon’ hit up y’all barber. They gon’ send you to the voicemail, you’ll have a 1 o’clock appointment, and you are gonna get there at 1 o’clock, and somebody gon’ be sitting in the chair.”

Needless to say, Rose’s thoughts on how much one should spend on their haircuts went viral, garnering ample responses on social media. But sometimes, paying a whopper for a great hairdo is worth it.

Stephen A. Smith Once Had A Hilarious Comment On Rose’s Glasses

Rose’s hair and glasses have been the topic of discussion for some time now. Earlier this season, analyst Stephen A. Smith had a hilarious comment on his glasses.

Rolling back to the incident, Rose had a bold prediction wearing rose-tinted glasses on ESPN’s pregame show NBA Countdown featuring Smith, Mike Greenberg, and Michael Wilbon. The Los Angeles Lakers were the topic of discussion, and Rose’s claim had Smith bring up his glasses.

“Darvin Ham does an amazing job of implementing a defensive philosophy the team follows. Anthony Davis plays 70+ games, LeBron James flirts with the 30 points that he averages, and passes captain. They trade Russell Westbrook to Indiana for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. Get a backup for AD, and also get a knockdown shooter. Then they get a fourth or fifth seed in the West.”

“And this is rose-colored glasses. Now you’re in your fourth or fifth spot, you get a chance to advance, and the Lakers get to the second round, and lose seven games. That’s the rose-colored outlook if you’re a Laker fan. That’s the best, best, best, best, best case scenario.”

To which Smith had a hilarious response that saw the rest of the analysts roar with laughter.

Let me tell y’all something right now with these rose-colored glasses. There’s a whole bunch of ifs and oh my god! I mean, how many if’s can you put out there, that’s really rose-colored. But, if that’s what happens, I’m treating the entire staff to these glasses.”

All said and done, there’s no denying that Rose does look funky and can carry off those hairdos and the glasses. Guess $100 for a haircut sometimes can make a statement.
