Jamal Murray is fresh off winning the championship alongside Nikola Jokic last season. After some serious injuries, Murray bounced back this season and reminded everyone of how good he is, especially in the playoffs for the Denver Nuggets

After winning and performing the way he did, Murray might have expected to get a high rating on NBA 2K24, but he was sorely disappointed, as he is only 84. And he took to Twitter to express his disappointment.

“Ain’t no way my rating that low! How is that possible??” Murray wrote on Twitter.

While superstars like Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, and Stephen Curry are all rated higher than him, that is to be expected. But even names like Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Klay Thompson, LaMelo Ball, and Myles Turner have found their way to a better rating than Murray, which does seem a bit wild.

Jamal Murray has never been an All-Star in the NBA, which might be one of the reasons he gets overlooked from time to time, but it still feels like some disrespect. He averaged 26.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game in the playoffs, that should be more than enough to get him a way higher rating than he has. His frustration is easy to understand, and he’s not even going off like Klay Thompson did a while ago.

Jamal Murray Was Getting Shouts To Be Named MVP Of The Western Conference Finals

Jamal Murray averaged 32.6 points per game in the Western Conference Finals sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023, and he was so good that people were clamoring for him to be named MVP for that series. Nikola Jokic’s overall dominance meant he got the award, but that’s another testament to how incredible Murray has been since he returned from his injuries. He also doesn’t prop himself up, which might hurt his case

Another reason for his rating might also be the injuries, Murray played only 48 games in the 2020-21 season and then missed the entirety of the 2021-22 season thanks to his ACL injury. It took him some time to get back into rhythm and that has led to people ignoring just how good he is. Jamal Murray will surely get a higher rating in the next game, and the jump might be massive if they have another big season next year.
