James Harden And Landry Shamet Have Hilarious Instagram Exchange On Who Will Wear No. 13

1 Min Read

James Harden has been wearing the No. 13 since he first got drafted in 2009. The number, like his beard, has become a bit of a signature for the superstar guard.

So when he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets last week, there was obviously some concern over whether or not he’d be forced to give up his number.

On Instagram, he and Landry Shamet (who is the current owner of the number), got into a “big” debate about who would wear it in a back-and-forth exchange.

Of course, Shamet would end up caving, as it has already been reported that Harden will get the number.

Shamet, who arrived in Brooklyn from the Clippers during a three-time trade in November, is once again being forced to change his number to satisfy the whims of an incoming superstar. As has been previously reported, Harden will wear the No. 13 for the Nets, just as he did for the Rockets, the Thunder, the Arizona State Sun Devils and the California high school he attended, Artesia.

It’s a hilarious exchange and hopefully a sign of good vibes for the team going forward.
