- James Harden caused quite a stir with his comments while on tour in China
- Harden publically called Daryl Morey a liar and stated he wouldn’t be a part of the same organization as him
- A fan present at the event stated that Harden also refused to sign a 76ers jersey
James Harden wants out from the Philadelphia 76ers and seems to be willing to go to any length to do so. He went nuclear during a tour in China, as Harden publically called 76ers President Daryl Morey a liar. It seems Harden is so disgusted by the team that he even refused to sign a 76ers jersey, as per a user named ‘DddDdd13’ on Hupu.
“A buddy and I put the 76ers jersey in front of him, and he refused to sign it.”
Hupu is a Chinese sports forum and the fan shared pictures to show that he was at the event.

You can see fans with posters of Harden, and he seems to have agreed to take pictures with some of them.

This would be quite petty on Harden’s part if he actually refused. It’s just signing some jersey and making a fan’s day, but apparently, the former MVP is way too disgusted with the 76ers at this point.
Harden seems to have won over a lot of users on Hupu by dissing Morey, as he had, of course, caused a stir in China with his Tweet in support of Hong Kong back in 2019. If there was one place where the 33-year-old was going to get a ton of support for blasting Morey, it was China, so he certainly chose wisely.
James Harden Wants To Make The 76ers Uncomfortable
When Harden opted into his $35.6 million player option in June, he did so with the expectation that he’d be traded, preferably to the Los Angeles Clippers. Well, over a month has passed now, and he’s still with the team. The breaking point perhaps came when the 76ers ended trade talks on Harden last week and planned to bring him back for training camp.
It could have been what set the 10-time All-Star off to the point where he decided to go public in this fashion. Harden now wants to make the 76ers so uncomfortable that they won’t bring him to camp.
We have seen Morey stand firm in the past when it came to the whole Ben Simmons saga, and early indications seem to be that he’s not going to budge here either, and will wait until he gets the best possible deal for Harden. The guard averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 10.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks in the 2022-23 season, and Morey won’t let him go for pennies on the dollar.
