Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy explained why the Denver Nuggets have been the best team in the Western Conference this season.

His comments come on the back of the team’s 3-0 lead against the Lakers in the ongoing Western Conference Finals. “There’s a reason why Denver has been the best in the West and one of the best teams in the NBA,” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet.

“They’re disciplined, they’re well coached and they’re versatile. Very smart team. So you have to be ready to play. My hat’s off to Denver because they execute well. Without Jokic – Jokic in foul trouble – they’re still able to maintain and sustain the Lakers’ comeback. So yeah, they’re the best.”

The Nuggets have played clinical basketball so far this season. And more importantly, they have been consistent at it.

They are on the cusp of making history when they play LA in Game 4. A win will see them make the NBA Finals by beating the Lakers for the first time in playoff history, and also sweep a team for the maiden time in franchise history.

Charles Barkley Believes The Lakers Have Already Lost The WCF To The Nuggets

Former NBA star Charles Barkley believes the Lakers have already been defeated by the Nuggets in the WCF.

“They’re gonna win the championship, in my opinion,” Barkley said. “I can’t wait to get to the Finals because I know they got some good golf courses out there in Denver.” he had further added that things weren’t easy for LA.

“This is a perfect example right here,” Barkley said. “They think they are better than they are. This ain’t the Bubble, dude.”

The Nuggets will be eager to finish things when they meet the Lakers for Game 4, and should they indeed sweep the Purple and Gold, they will fancy themselves to win the Finals against the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics.
